Demystifying Your KuKirin G2 Master Dashboard: The Complete P-Settings Guide (And Why Some Settings Are Now Locked for Safety)
Unboxed your new KuKirin G2 Master and feeling confused by dashboard codes like P1, P6, or PB? Or perhaps you noticed that older guides mention settings like P2, P3, or PA, but they are completely missing from your screen? You are not alone.
This guide explains exactly how to navigate your scooter's display and what each active setting does for your daily rides. We will also explain why our factory engineers recently removed and locked several hidden P-settings on the newest displays—specifically to prevent accidental calibration changes and ensure maximum rider safety. Let's get straight into it.
1. Basic Dashboard Controls & Menu Access
Here are the essential button operations to control your scooter:
-
Long press the power button: Turns the scooter ON or OFF.
-
Short press the power button: Changes the speed level (3 speed modes available).
-
Short press the single/dual motor button: Switches between single and dual motor modes.
To enter the advanced P-Settings menu:
-
Ensure the scooter is powered on and completely stationary.
-
Press the power button three times in a row quickly. The screen will display "P1".
-
Use the power button to scroll through the menu (P1, P5, P6, etc.).
-
To change a value, short-press the Mode or Set button (depending on your display version).
-
To save and exit, simply turn the scooter off and back on.
2. The Hidden P-Settings: Why They Were Removed For Safety
If your new G2 Master does not show P2, P3, P4, P7, or PA in the menu, your scooter is perfectly fine.
The newest KuKirin G2 Master models use an upgraded "C Version" dashboard. On this version, factory engineers have hidden these specific settings and locked them to their optimal defaults for safety reasons. In the past, riders would accidentally change these core motor and battery calibrations, causing the scooter to malfunction, display incorrect speeds, or suffer dangerous performance drops.
Here is what those hidden settings control and why it is safer that they are now locked:
-
P2 (Voltage Level): Tells the display how to calculate the battery percentage. It is now permanently locked to 52V to prevent inaccurate battery readings.
-
P3 (Wheel Diameter): Calculates your speed based on wheel size. It is locked to match the factory 10-inch tires so your speedometer is always accurate.
-
P4 (Magnetic Pole Pairs): A strict internal motor parameter used to calculate speed.
-
P7 (Speed Limit Mode): A global firmware speed limit setting which is not available on G2 Master by default
-
PA (Start Acceleration Strength): Adjusted the punchiness of the initial throttle response from 1 (low) to 5 (high). This is now optimized out-of-the-box to prevent unexpected wheel spin and improve launch safety.
3. The Active P-Settings You Can Adjust
Whether you are riding in the UK or across the EU, here are the settings you can still fully customize to fit your local roads:
-
P1: Speed Unit Selection
-
0 = Miles per hour (mph)
-
1 = Kilometers per hour (km/h)
-
Recommendation: Set this to 0 if you are riding in the UK, or keep it set to 1 for riding in the EU.
-
-
P5: Cruise Control
-
0 = Cruise control OFF
-
1 = Cruise control ON
-
Recommendation: When set to 1, holding the throttle steady for a few seconds locks your speed so you can rest your thumb. Simply tap the brake lever to cancel it.
-
-
P6: Start Mode (Crucial Safety Feature)
-
0 = Zero start (the scooter accelerates immediately when you press the throttle from a stop).
-
1 = Non-zero start / Kick start (you must manually push off with your foot before the throttle engages).
-
Recommendation: Set this to 1. It is much safer for city riding, preventing the scooter from jumping forward if you accidentally bump the throttle at a traffic light.
-
-
P8: Auto Sleep Time
-
Sets how long the scooter stays on before automatically turning off (0 to 60 minutes).
-
Recommendation: Set this to 5 or 10 minutes. It saves your battery if you forget to power down after a ride.
-
-
PB: Electronic Brake Strength
-
0 = OFF
-
1 (low) to 5 (high) = Controls how strongly the motors help you brake.
-
Recommendation: Set this to 3 or 4. It gives your mechanical disc brakes a strong electronic assist without feeling too aggressive, which is perfect for wet weather.
-
-
PC: Total Mileage Reset
-
Holding the button here clears your total odometer.
-
Recommendation: Ignore this setting unless you are performing major maintenance.
-
Take 5 minutes to dial in these settings before your first ride, and your KuKirin G2 Master will be perfectly customized for your local commute. If you have any questions about your display or need help troubleshooting, reach out to our official support team. Safe riding!
